If you started dying tomorrow, what would you regret?
Wrong question.
This is a helpful question to facilitate self-reflection but isn’t the question that will help you change the outcome of your life on your deathbed.
You are already dying – everyone’s clock is ticking, and we don’t know when our time is up.
A more effective question: What do I need to do now so that I won’t miss or regret anything when I die…
And even more specifically:
What can I do now to show up in the world and my relationships as my true self?
What/who do I need to stand up to in order to honor my own needs?
What am I avoiding and missing out on because I am choosing comfort and fear over courage?
What work do I need to let go of in order to spend more time and energy loving and living?
What feelings do I need to express?
